The SCHOOL KIT is an educational experience designed for schools, families, and groups of friends. It includes 4 Vanessa cardui rearing kits (one per class or group) plus a 40×60 cm butterfly cage to bring all butterflies together and observe flight, behavior, and reproduction.
A fun and educational activity for children and adults to learn about the butterfly life cycle, while sharing the experience and saving money compared to individual kits.
Start your experience with the breeding of Vanessa cardui, a spectacular migratory butterfly capable of flying hundreds of kilometers.
Follow these simple instructions and you will be able to observe the growth of the caterpillars and the process of metamorphosis directly at home.
The duration of the experience is about three weeks: one week for the caterpillars to grow and two weeks for the chrysalis to develop. These timings are approximate and may vary depending on temperature. The warmer it is, the faster the cycle will be.
The kit contains a total of 20 Vanessa cardui caterpillars that feed on a pre-prepared diet inside 4 breeding cups. No additional food is required.
Including our Butterfly Habitat, where the chrysalises can emerge and you can raise the adult butterflies.
