Salamis parhassus is a large species of butterfly in the family Nymphalidae, distributed in forested areas of Africa. Adults are often pearl white and will emerge in about 7-10 days, they need to be fed with a sugary solution. Adults pair if they have enough space to fly and caterpillars can be easily reared on Ruellia, the wild petunias.
