Papilio demoleus is a butterfly of the family Papilionidae, also known as the lime butterfly, lemon butterfly, lime swallowtail, and chequered swallowtail. These common names refer to their host plants, which are usually Citrus sp.
Adults can be reared in breeding cages or either in greenhouses. The handpairing technique can be performed to obtain fertile eggs. Larvae are easy to rear.
