These eggs are obtained from wild parents found in Hungary, where a population has established in the past decades. Very strong bloodline.
Antheraea yamamay, the Japanese silk moth, is a beautiful Saturniidae from Japan. This has been reared for centuries for the production of silk. The larvae produces valuable fibers which are peculiar for their greenish color. Adults display a variety of color forms, they are huge and are very elegant in shape.
These eggs will overwinter thus need to be kept cold until next spring. They need to be conserved into sealed container to impair dehydration. The species is easy to rear and feeds on wide variety of hosts, performing generally two generations per year.
