Anisota virginiensis is an unusual, very nice, small-sized Saturniidae which lives in north American deciduous woodlands and suburbs.

Mating occurs during the day and is a fast process. Caterpillars produce a nude pupae which overwinters in the soil, they are very easy to rear and feed on a large variety of host plants. Anisota virginiensis performs 2 or 3 generations across the year. Eggs are orange and large compared to the size of the adult, each female lays a reduced number of eggs.
