Actias ningpoana is spread through Russia and China, but its range is even wider. It can be bred all year round or you can overwinter the cocoons.
This species are very easy to rear, among the many hostplants Liquidambar, Juglans and Eucalyptus are the top choices. Good results on Prunus too.
We also have Aglais io, the peacock, pupae available right now. It is a member of the Nymphalidae family and it’s widespread through Europe. It’s one of the first butterfly you see flying in Spring since it overwinters as adults.
Adults pair easily in netted cage in partial shade and will lay lot of eggs cluster. If you provide them fruits in a dish and they’ll feed by themselves! We recommend potting up some Urtica plants, so the early rearing would be effortless.
VERY IMPORTANT NOTE: These eggs and pupae are shipped from Italy with priority shipping only, in order to ensure fast arrival before hatching. Unfortunately, giving the current Covid-19 pandemia, postal service has experienced random delays in deliveries. This is the reason why we DO NOT assume responsibility for eggs hatching during travel for any eggs order which is sent outside Italy. As always we will try to reship or refund when possible, but this cannot be guaranteed. If you order from Italy, we do offer full reship or refund as always, in case of any problem.
