Entomodena 2019 and TimeToBreed: a long love story

There are lots of fairs around the world, especially in the lepidoptera world. We can say that one could connect directly the idea of fair to the beauty of finding the latest or the rarest butterfly available. But Entomodena is different, for its relevance in Italian and international enthomology.

Entomodena: what is it?
This entomological fair, who has become a staple in Italian enthomology has changed from a small setting to a way larger scale. We started there in 2015, when TimeToBreed was just the result of the passion of a young lepidoptera enthusiast from Northern Italy.
On their site, Entomodena is presented as an “International Exchange Exhibition [that] has gone from a simple meeting place for enthusiasts to a point of reference for industry experts from all over the world”.
This is surely true, since the international presence, especially in this year, will have lots of space. It’s well known in fact that there will be experts from all over the world who will surely meet to exchange rare and non-rare insects. Presences from Japan, USA, other American countries and Asia have always been welcome.
Aside from the mere shops you will find, as usual, important training and information meetings held by leading exponents of the scientific sector. And much of the fame of the fair comes exactly from this: it contributes to spreading Entomology as an established science! But surely it does not lose the appeal to younger audiences and within the large public.
Entomodena and TimeToBreed: what you will find
In recent years, the exposure and exchange of live bred insects has increased significantly. In fact the vast majority is not just related to butterflies but right now also cetonini, lucanidae, phasmids and much more is taken into account.
Of course everything happens taking into account all the right measures for protecting wildlife and in compliance with international wildlife protection standards.
And that is where the love between Entomodena and TimeToBreed started: here at TimeToBreed we always follow the policy “Nature first”. Nature is the most important thing in our lives, and we all know how difficult is to protect it. While the world is taking conscience of how important biodiversity is, here at TimeToBreed we knew it from ages.
