The privet hawkmoth is one of the European largest Sphingidae species, these pupae are in diapause and will emerge in april/may. Adults of Sphinx ligustri can pair and lay eggs without feeding but proper adult nutrition will increase the lifespan and the number of eggs laid. Eggs hatch in 7-10 days after egg laying and larvae can be reared on Ligustrum sp.

Very easy and quick to rear, a well aerated environment is recommended to avoid illnesses.
