Diapherodes hennemanni is a beautifull Phasmatodea species which is less common among amateur insect breeders. It is a very large stick insect, native to the island of Jamaica. Rearing is easy. It exhibits the sexual dimorphism of many similar insects, males are small and thinner with large wings. The species doesn’t have yet a Phasmid Study Group number.
We keep our brood in a 1:1 ratio of males and females to ensure all the eggs have been fertilized and came from sexual reproduction. Eggs need to be incubated in a warm and humid environment, ensuring the correct airflow to avoid mold development.
